Mark Pawson

After looking at a book titled "Experimental Formats" I read about an artist/designer who makes ephemerate objects and books.

Editorial Brief

The finished image for the recent one week brief illustrating a new scientist article about artificial intelligence.

What Am I Doing?

Okay...Been a little slack recently, due to new projects and going home and my computer breaking. But after my tutorial which was like 2 weeks ago I decided that I'am going to do illustrations to go with my poems that I have written. But I never really got anywhere as I am also interested in the format that they will be delivered in so....

Due to my interest in the diy zine/comic culture/aesthetic I'm going to take the narrative nature of the poetry and the disposability of the original source material (newspapers) and apply that idea to the illustrations and use them in a small handheld booklet approach....

Whats Been Happening?

Okay, so its been a week since I last updated. What have I been upto? Well on Monday the 23rd I did another writing workshop with Helen Cross. Took up all day. Tuesday given new group project 2.1 and then Aiden's lecture in the afternoon. Wednesday was another piece of the Helen Cross creative writing workshops in the morning then guest lecture in the afternoon. Thursday we had the course meeting then Why Not Associates in the afternoon. Friday Type Workshop in the morning. Inbetween all this I fitted in some library research and a couple of type experiments.

Now it is Wednesday 1st November. Monday I did the mono-printing workshop to much enjoyment. Did some lino-cut too. Printed that on Tuesday before the lecture in the afternoon. Today I went in hoping to scan my prints from Monday and Tuesday but because of my love of bold thick ink they are taking a lifetime to dry so I went home. Should really get going with some stuff. I'm glad to be upto date again.
